Insurance Update – Hurricane Harvey Care

Carlton Employees affected by Hurricane Harvey, we have an update from our insurance company that provides coverage for you. Please review the following information and reach out to us or PanAmerican/Teladoc with any questions.

Important information for employees enrolled in PanAmerican medical insurance through Carlton Staffing/Carltech:

Prescription Refills:

Per the guidance/bulletin released by the Texas DOI (link), it states “It is the opinion of the Texas Department of Insurance that all health insurers and health maintenance organizations that provide prescription medication coverage as part of any policy, certificate, or evidence of coverage should, through the duration of the governor’s proclamations, authorize payment to pharmacies for up to a ninety day supply of any prescription medication for individuals regardless of the date upon which the prescription had most recently been filled.”

PanAmerican/Teladoc Hurricane Harvey Care Outreach:

Severe weather preparedness messaging. On Friday, PanAmerican/Teladoc began reaching members in the affected areas through Facebooks ads to remind them of their access to the Teladoc service as part of their emergency preparation.

Red Cross shelter service partnership.  PanAmerican has a partnership with the Red Cross that offers free Teladoc general medical services to those in shelters.  This partnership is in place to help us reach the most severely impacted people, and those with the greatest need but whom they cannot reach directly.

Free general medical visit “hotline”.  PanAmerican is providing free general medical services to anyone – Teladoc members and non-members – through a dedicated hotline (855.220.4585). Teladoc has been helping people learn about this through:

  • A newly created landing page https://www.teladoc.com/harvey and social media
  • Direct outreach to Teladoc and Best Doctors clients, so they can help get the word out through their networks
  • A media advisory that is being issued in the affected areas

For those of your who would like to extend these details to help your personal social networks, please visit  PanAmerican at their FacebookLinkedIn and Twitter pages for posts to share.
