Today kicks off the Annual celebration of National Staffing Week! This week is a thanks to the hard work of the millions of individuals employed by U.S. staffing firms! In light of honoring all our temporary workers we wanted to share our own tips for Job Seekers.

Tip 1:  Be diligent with your job search; it can be frustrating applying over and over for jobs. Treat every application as your only; you have to remember that this is a hiring managers first view of you! Who knows maybe that next job will be yours!

Tip 2: Apply to more than one company; when searching for a job many companies may be the right fit, but are not hiring at that time. Applying for several companies will widen your job opportunity and increase your chances in finding your next job.

Tip 3:  Be honest about what kind of assignments you want and feel comfortable doing. Apply for positions that best fit your interests and skill sets.

Tip 4: Prepare for your interview. Familiarize yourself with the company or position you are interviewing for, update your resume, and dress for the job. There are also many articles out there on interview preparation with tips that can further help you be ready to impress at your next job interview.

Tip 5:  Stay positive.  A positive attitude can make a great first impression & go a long way while job searching.

We asked our President, Annette Monks, what her advice to you would be. Annette urges you to complete all your applications thoroughly, have an appealing resume, prepare information to present about yourself, and lastly have great references ready to go!

Our final piece of advice would be to treat finding a job, like a job. Obtaining a working mindset during your job search can help retain your persistence.  Implement the tips provided and keep updated with the job market on a daily basis.
